PLAN THE SPECIFICS OF YOUR EVENT BY ACCESSING THESE GUIDELINES

WELCOME

We are pleased to present you with our catering offerings. We hope you will find this guide useful when planning your next event. You are not restricted to the selections in this menu guide and we welcome the opportunity to work with you to customize your occasion.

PLANNING YOUR EVENT

At Wayne State College, our experienced staff is capable of creating the right menu and atmosphere for your event. Early planning for your event will enhance your experience. After identifying your date, please contact the Events Office at 402-375-7589 to arrange for space on campus. The Events Office will help you plan your reservation and assist in coordinating your event. For your food and beverage needs, please contact Wayne State Dining Services at 402-375-7418 during regular business hours. We will assist you in creating a memorable event. To insure that we are able to help you create that special event, we ask that you contact us at least two weeks in advance. For events scheduled less than three business days in advance, we will make every effort to accommodate your needs but current menu pricing and availability cannot be guaranteed.

GUEST COUNTS

A guaranteed count is required at least three business days prior to your event (unless other arrangements have been made) for all catered events. In some cases, we may increase the period to five business days to satisfy the unique nature of certain very special events. The guarantee is not subject to reduction after the deadline. If the final guarantee is not received we will consider the number on the latest confirmation to be correct. Your billing is based on the final count. If the number of guests is higher than the final count guaranteed you will be charged accordingly. Menu changes and guest counts requested after the deadline will be accommodated based on the availability of products and service being rendered.

BILLING/CANCELATIONS/LATE ARRIVALS

Services may be paid by cash, check or credit card (Visa, Master Card or Discover) or by providing your Wayne State College Cost Center. In the event that you need to cancel your event, notice is required three business days in advance to avoid any charges for incurred expenses. Cancellations made after the deadline will result in charges for any incurred expenses. In the event that your group will be arriving later than scheduled, please notify the Catering Director immediately at 402-375-7418. Catered meals are very time sensitive and we schedule our production to provide fresh and timely food. A delay in serving time, especially if unanticipated can result in a diminished culinary experience for your guests.

DISPOSABLE/CHINA SERVICES

China service is provided within the Student Center for meal functions at no additional charge. Disposable service is available at no additional charge and is the standard for casual receptions and beverage stations within the Student Center and for all events outside of the Student Center.

LINEN SERVICE

Linens are used for meals and casual receptions and beverage services. Tables that support food and beverage services are dressed with linen at no additional charge. Guest tables at meal functions will be covered in white linen at no additional charge. Linen napkins are included in all meal functions within the Student Center. Tablecloths and skirting requested for ancillary tables such as registration, gift, meeting and other uses apart from food and beverage will have additional fees applied. Linens are available for rental. Please contact the Catering Director for selections and pricing.

STAFFING

All meal functions include adequate staff for a service period of two hours. If there are extended service requirements ( a program etc.), please notify the Catering Director during the planning stage of your event. If you deem additional servers or serving time is a necessity for your event, there will be a $10.00 per hour, per attendant service charge.

LEFTOVERS

All leftovers remain the property of Wayne State Dining Services unless released by our event manager. Food is extremely perishable and food safety is a high priority for Wayne State Dining Services. Therefore we must reserve the right to deny the removal of leftovers by guests to insure proper food safety and sanitation. Additionally we may prepare food in excess of the guarantee or final billing number to accommodate last minute guests, maintain selection of choice, or to satisfy other operating needs. This excess remains the property of Wayne State Dining Services and you are only charged for the guaranteed guest count.

PRICING

All pricing is subject to change without notice. Upon request, food and beverage prices can be quoted in writing up to sixty days prior to your event. CAMPUS

DELIVERY

There is no delivery fee for catered events held in the Student Center Building. However, events catered outside of the Student Center will incur a minimal $10 delivery charge. Our In Your Space student organization catering guide is designed for student organizations only and not designed for delivery, so additional fees would apply.
